The Modern Dance Music Research and Archiving Foundation’s archive repository is housed at award-winning Shorefront Legacy Center (www.shorefrontlegacy.org) - in Evanston, IL. We are proud to have our collections featured at the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture.
The only repository in the United States dedicated solely to the preservation of the history of House and Dance Music Genre’s The Modern Dance Music Research Collection documents House Music Culture with a strong focus on Chicago. We continue to update our physical collections and finding aids and collaborate with the Chicago Black Social Culture Map for digital content.
The Modern Dance Music Research and Archiving Foundation hopes to benefit from donations of historical artifacts, archival documents other ephemera related to House and Dance Music Culture Globally.
